GSE Bio-Char Products

GSE Bio-Briquettes is a manufactured product produced from a special blend of GSE Bio-Char. Bio-Briquettes and Lump-Char offers value for money smokeless fuel in the domestic, commercial and industrial heating and cooking markets. Some of these markets are currently serviced by wood pellet manufacturers.

GSE Bio-char is produced by the conversion of renewable biomass feed stock to a high quality char product through environmentally responsible gasification processing in GSE's WtE stations.

There are numerous feedstocks used in the production of GSE Bio-Char. Through their use the world can enjoy genuine assitance in the reduction of distructive greenhouse gases that polute our atmosphere. Our patented production processes produce a high quality and affordable GSE Bio-Char for both domestic and commercial uses.

When the feed stock is processed at a GSE WtE station, the resulting bio-char output comes in one of two forms – Lump Char and Fine Char.

Lump Char   Fine Char
(approximately 5mm to 20mm in diameter) (a finer char up to 5mm in diameter)

Once mechanically sorted, the Lump Char produced is bagged as natural smokeless GSE Lump-Char while the Fine Char will be used to make briquettes and soil conditioner.

In the briquetting process, the Fine Char is blended with a starch binder, compressed into a briquette then dried to form the final product. As with the Lump Char product, the briquettes can be provided in retail sized packaging for domestic and commercial markets.

Depending on the biomass or feedstock used, this charred product typically has a very high calorific value and is therefore a very good product for heating and cooking. GSE Bio-Char product sample produced from Timber Woodchip feed stocks at the WtE testing facility in Newcastle, Australia. Current testing shows our Bio-Char is an excellent fuel source for use in domestic and commercial heating and cooking.

The high calorific values shown in the table above are comparable to much of the coal used in power stations. GSE’s smokeless Bio-Briquet fuel used for heating and cooking is produced in a ZERO NET CARBON EMISSION process providing another genuine benefit for our people and our planet. The end users of our GSE Bio-Char Briquette will be proud to contribute to reducing greenhouse gas and carbon to the atmosphere.
